The Case

ISL powered the first NFT collections of Leo Messi, Luis Suárez and CONMEBOL on the Ethernity Chain platform.

As NFTs (non-fungible tokens) exploded in the digital scene becoming the phenomenon of the year, platforms like Ethernity Chain started to expand their authenticated NFT collections to the sports industry.

Being a leading NFT platform, Ethernity needed to have the most prominent soccer stars on their NFT roster and contacted ISL to do the job.

In only 3 months, ISL helped Ethernity to close deals with CONMEBOL, Leo Messi, and Luis Suárez, becoming Ethernity’s official and exclusive soccer partner.

Founded by early Bitcoin investor and NFT innovator Nick Rose Ntertsas, Ethernity is a unique digital asset platform that produces limited edition digital collectible NFTs, within the context of art and philanthropy. 

Blockchain technology is used to ensure the scarcity, authenticity, and eternal existence of these digital art collectibles endorsed by mainstream celebrities, notable and historical figures, athletes, musicians, and entrepreneurs, such as the Winklevoss twins, Pelé, or Messi.  

 

Leo Messi

Globally considered the best player in the world and widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Messi has won a record six Ballon d’Or awards, a record six European Golden Shoes, and in 2020 was named to the Ballon d’Or Dream Team.

Leo Messi has broken more records than any other player.

He has conquered all possible competition titles with FC Barcelona, plus one Copa América with Argentina (2021).

Messi, also known as “The GOAT”, currently plays at Paris Saint-Germain in France’s main competition tier – Ligue 1.

 

Luis Suárez

Regarded as one of the best players of his generation, and one of the greatest strikers of all time, Suárez has won nineteen major trophies in his career, including seven league titles and a UEFA Champions League at club level, as well as the 2011 Copa América with Uruguay. 

Suárez has won two European Golden Shoes, an Eredivisie Golden Boot, a Premier League Golden Boot, and the Pichichi Trophy. 

He has scored over 500 career goals for club and country.

Also known as “El pistolero”, he currently plays for Atlético de Madrid in LaLiga.

CONMEBOL

CONMEBOL is the South American Football Confederation – the continental governing body of football in South America (apart from Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana).

It is one of FIFA’s six continental confederations and the oldest in the world.

CONMEBOL is responsible for the organization and governance of South American football’s major international tournaments.

The Challenge

ISL had to quickly learn and understand the new NFT universe, recognize the opportunities for the soccer industry, and identify the potential players and institutions that could be successful matches for Ethernity Chain.

In addition, ISL had to manage the pressure and high expectations of Ethernity Chain, legendary soccer players and world-renowned soccer institutions.

The Solution

ISL created a bridge between the digital universe and the sports industry, putting together the best of both worlds.

A groundbreaking, unprecedented and historic collaboration with unlimited potential to grow and develop into different synergies.

By connecting Messi, Suárez and CONMEBOL with Ethernity, ISL originated not only a new trend but also unique digital art collections that reached millions of dollars in sales.

The Results

The results were outstanding at all levels.

CONMEBOL’s and Messi’s collections had tokens selling out within hours and generated a joint revenue of over $4 million.

Messi’s collection broke all records of sports NFT collections selling $3.4 million on the first day.

In terms of publicity and brand exposure, both collections were mentioned in the media on a global scale.

Messi’s NFT collection was announced on media outlets worldwide, with Ethernity Chain and ISL featured on several headlines.

The Suárez collection will be launched on October 10th.

 

Public Relations and Mediation

ISL contacted Messi, Suárez and CONMEBOL, and connected them with Ethernity Chain, making sure all parts shared the same desire of participating in the NFT project with realistic goals.  

 

Brand Development & Management

 ISL conceived the NFT collections as a new way to expand all brands involved and create something unique and unprecedented.

 

Experiential Design

ISL handmade and overviewed all designs for their corporate announcement of the collections, published on ISL’s social media channels.

 

PR and Media Relations

ISL created from scratch the press releases to announce the NFT collections and distributed them to the main Spanish and Latin media outlets.

ISL also distributed the press releases to international publications such as Forbes magazine.

As a result, the launch of the NFT collections received global media coverage and the news kept spreading for days.
